Please take the time to read the policy booklet
The booklet has been designed to explain what you are and what you are not covered for, as well as pointing out some ‘rules’ that you must comply with if you want the policy to cover you.
On the Policy wording document, we have clearly marked out what is covered with your policy and what will not be covered. At the bottom of the pages, we have defined insurance terms and meanings, to avoid any confusion.
So, you buy insurance for your trip, (as soon as you book the trip is best), and the insurance is there to cover you for your financial losses caused by sudden and unforeseen circumstances that were beyond your control, (subject to the terms and conditions of the policy). It is not designed to cover situations you already knew about or that you could reasonably have anticipated (that’s completely against the principle of insurance).
Your Postcard policy can only cover you for an incident which arises between the date you purchased the policy and the date you return home – these dates will be shown on your Policy Schedule along with confirmation of the premium you have paid and any additional extensions you may have purchased.
Please take the time to read both the Policy Wordings document and the Policy Schedule as they do form the basis of the contract between you and the insurance company. Remember not all policies are the same.
Please take care on your trip and always act as if you don’t have insurance. This may seem a strange thing to say but, unfortunately, a travel insurance policy cannot cover every eventuality so please make sure that you take all possible steps to avoid accident or injury to yourself, or loss of, or damage to your possessions.
The mantra on insurance… “treat our money as if it was yours”
There are actually two policies within this insurance, a Pre-Travel Policy which starts as soon as you pay your premium and a Travel Policy which starts when you leave home to begin your journey.
The Postcard policy is made up of a number of different sections offering different types of cover provided by the different insurers shown on our insurers page and brought together to create this product for you.
